Kyrgyzstan has adopted a law naming a peak in the Tien Shan mountain system after Russian Prime Minister Putin. The bill was submitted to the legislature just before the start of negotiations on Russian natural gas export duties, and adopted just after Russia granted Kyrgyzstan an exemption from export duties. Putin Peak is 4,400meters high.

Ukraine Seeks Review of Russian Gas Prices
Ukraine is seeking a further price reduction from Russia’s Gazprom, claiming that a reduction is needed to prevent an economic disaster. Ukraine is also seeking a deal that would ensure transit volumes through its pipelines to Europe. Russia is currently constructing the Nord Stream and South Stream pipelines, which will bypass Ukraine.
