Kyrgyz President’s Brother Escapes from Prison

Kyrgyztan ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev’s brother, Akhmat Bakiyev, is wanted by the police after escaping from prison.  He was convicted in 2011 on charges of orginizing mass riots and inciting ethnic hatred.  He was brought from prison camp no. 35 to a city hospital to undergo treatment for pneumonia and escaped fromm there.  Kurmanbek Bakiyev fled from Kyrgyzstan after the April, 2010, revolution and received asylum in Belarus.
