Putin: Opposition Conspiring to Murder

In a speech addressed to his supporters, Russian Prime Minister and presidential candidate Vladimir Putin accused his opponents of being ready to murder a well-known person so as to blame the act on the authorities. Putin also suggested his opponents were producing bogus material in advance to give the impression that the results of Sunday’s presidential election would be falsified in his favour. “I know this technique. They have been trying to employ it for ten tears now, especially those who are now abroad. They are even selecting a sacred sacrifice among some well-known people. They themselves will kill the victim, and then will blame the government,” Putin stated.
