Yevloyev Case Goes to Strasbourg

The Supreme Court of Ingushetia, Russia, affirmed the refusal of a lower court to hold the detention of Mahomed Yevloyev illegal. Meanwhile, Yevloyev family filed a claim against Russia with the European Curt of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In 2008 Yevloyev, the owner of Ingush opposition web site Ingushetiya.ru, was detained by the Ingush police and shot dead right in the police car (a police officer is now tried on “negligent homicide” charges).
