The Kyrgyz opposition overturned the government and took power in capital Bishkek. The police and army stand behind the new government. President Kurmanbek Bakiyev fled to South Kyrgyzstan, but refuses to resign. 75 persons were reported killed and 1,500 injured during the unrest. Mass looting was reported.
