Georgian Lawyers Go on Hunger Strike

A group of twenty to thirty Georgian attorneys began a hunger strike outside the parliamentary building in Tbilisi demanding the release of political prisoners and the investigation of several suspicious deaths of political and business figures. The lawyers are also requesting that criminal cases be opened against some high-profile officials allegedly involved in corruption. In an attempt to stop the strike, the police confiscated the lawyers’ blankets.
